Most of the blog entries were synthesized from various works. The original intent is to clarify for myself the information that had come. There was a need to ensure the integrity of the information received by cross checking them with others. With Theosophy and Ageless Wisdom as the basic framework, the “new information” must be in harmony. It must also resonate with a deeper reality within. I am sharing this synthesis with the view that it also assists the reader in clarifying and discerning for him/herself the truth, relative as it may seem.

The root doctrine of Ageless Wisdom is also the basis of the “esoteric (hidden) traditions” of most major world religions:
1. Cabbala of Judaism
2. Ancient Gnosticism, Essenes and Nazarene, and the Medieval Rosicrucian and Masonry in Christianity
3. What HP Blavatsky called “Esoteric Buddhism”
4. Sufism in Islam
5. Vedanta, Upanishads and Yoga of Hinduism

In the late 19th century, Helena P. Blavatsky (1831-1891)reintroduced the Ageless Wisdom through various works, such as “The Secret Doctrine” and “Isis Unveiled.” She called it "Theosophy;" she also established the Theosophical Society, under the guidance of Ascended Masters known to the world as Masters Morya, Kuthumi and Djwal Khul (who purportedly appeared to the world as the Three Magi during the birth of Jesus).

Blavatsky claimed her main source as an ancient book called "The Book of Dzyan" (from the Sanskrit Dhayana, meaning "mystic meditation"). In c. 400 BC, the book found its way as the Chinese "C'han Philosophy" and the Japanese "Zen," both of which took root from Buddhism.

Blavatsky also wrote "The Voice of the Silence," derived from "The Book of the Golden Precepts," which she claimed had the same origin as the "Book of Dzyan." Many of the Golden Precepts can be read in the Bhagavad Gita. Another book, "Light on the Path," written by Mabel Collins, was also derived from this source. A third book, "At the Feet of the Master," written by J. Krisnamurti (at 15 years old) completes a trilogy, considered as the basic tenets of “Theosophy.”

After Blavatsky died, the society underwent changes and spawned several other groups, such as the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn (MacGregor Mathers), Fraternity of the Inner Light (Dion Fortune), the “new” Rosicrucians and “Masonry,” the Anthroposophical Society (Rudolf Steiner) and the World Order of the Star (J. Khrishnamurti).

Alice A. Bailey, formerly an associate of Theosophical Society, also spun off with her Lucis Trust. She authored 24 books on esoteric philosophy, guided by Master Djwal Khul (DK) for 30 years (1919-1949) on a more advanced presentation of the Ageless Wisdom. She founded the Arcane School, training aspiring world servers in esoteric work.

After Bailey, several "guided" authors advanced the Ageless Wisdom. The information from these authors was the basis for the Ageless Wisdom Updates.

Among the major sources for this synthesis are the writings of/from H.P. Blavatsky, C.D. Leadbeater and Douglas Baker of the Theosophical Society; Alice A. Bailey of the Lucis Trust; Janet MacClure of the Tibetan Foundation; Hilary Hargreaves and Mark Brittain of the School of Inner Light; Genesis 2012; Kryon, through Carroll Lee; and the Pleiadians, through Barbara Marciniak & Amorah Quan Yin. The sources were appropriately labeled.

This synthesis is divided (initially) into 5 parts:
Part I - The Logos and Creation (Planes, Dimensions, and Human Evolution)
Part II - The 12 Rays and Spiritual Hierarchy
Part III - Cosmic Humans/Groups & Elohims, Archangels and Secret Rays
Part IV - Humans: Chakras (Centers), DNA, Electromagnetic Forces, Light Bodies, Layers of Consciousness
Part V - Updates and further elaboration of the 4 Parts.
-- Earth, DNA and Humanity (3 Part Series)
-- Ageless Wisdom and the Book of Revelation (3 Part Series)
-- Esoteric Astrology (3 Part Series)
-- Global Calamities and Human Evolution (3 Part Series)

The presentations (entries) are from newest to oldest. That is, Part I is the earliest and thus the oldest entry.

Discernment is very important when dealing with Ageless Wisdom. Mastership, from the viewpoint of the Master DK, is about "mastery of oneself" and not about "having pupils." (DK's Introduction in Violet Starre's "The Diamond Light,"2000)

Dion Fortune (in "The Esoteric Orders and Their Works," p. 83) explained: “upon the mundane plane, it is impossible to escape from the limitations of the human personalities. A great occultist will make a great occult school, but upon his death the mantle may fall upon unworthy shoulders and the glory be departed or turned to corruption.” Fortune added: some (mystery schools) have flourished unchecked, feared and revered by the people they guided, sometimes fallen into evil ways as the degenerated voodoo schools. Some retained a noble tradition as in certain Indian and Chinese schools and monastic orders, accepted as part of racial life.

In the words of Khrisnamurti (“The First and Last Freedom”): “It is through self-knowledge, not through belief in somebody else’s symbols, that a man comes to the eternal reality, in which he is being grounded...Our system of upbringing is based upon what to think, not how to think.”

In the words of the Master DK, the Tibetan (Introduction of AABailey Books, 1935) who inspired this synthesis: “the books that I have written are sent out with no claim for their acceptance. They may or may not be correct, true and useful…If the teaching conveyed calls forth a response from the illumined mind of the seeker in the world, and bring a flashing forth of his intuition, then let that teaching be accepted. But not otherwise.”

From Master Kuthumi (through Michelle Eloff): “A liberated spirit never needs to hold onto anything because every moment provides what is needed, because the moment is perfect… your daily purpose makes up for your greater purpose on Earth. Do not waste time searching for the grand purpose of your life. Be present and embrace the purpose of the moment. Every moment has a purpose, which is why you are in it.”

Global Calamities and Human Evolution, Part 3

This is the third part of a 3-part series on Global Calamities and Human Evolution. It highlighted the ancient cycles, particularly as depicted by the Mayans.

Memory Recall

As ancient stories were passed from generation to generation, they may have become myths with coded symbols. Where are the proofs?

·         In Egypt, one of two caskets found in Tel el Amarna, (seat of the throne of Amenhotep III and his son, Akhenaton in Egypt 3,000 years ago) was of a 7-year old boy, 8 feet tall (The casket is sitting at the Cairo Museum). Also found is a little known statue of Nefertiti, the wife of Akhenaton, described as having a huge head, large ears, long skinny neck, high waste and at least ten feet tall. Super beings could reasonably explain pyramids, dolmens and huge stone edifices.

·         In 1992, archeologist Francis Taylor and historian Kisari Mohan Ganguli uncovered evidence of a nuclear holocaust in an ancient city in Rajasthan, India (10 miles west of Jodphur) that destroyed the city and its half a million inhabitants. The layer of radioactive ash covered a three square mile area, which had been cordoned due to the high level of radiation. The find corroborated the stories of nuclear warfare depicted in the oldest Indian epic, Mahabharata. The blast was dated from 8,000 to 12,000 BC. [1]

·         From the time of Aristotle (c. 500 BC) until Copernicus in the 16th century, the world was considered flat. But 3,500 years earlier than the Greek Civilization, Sumerians had already divided the heavens into a 360-degree arc: the north, south and central band of constellations, into what is now the zodiac. They knew that the world was round.

·         The Piri Reis map of 1513, found in Istanbul, was copied from older maps dating as far back as 300 BC, the time of Eratosthenes. In the 1960s, when Professor Charles Hapgood analyzed and calibrated the map, it was found to be advanced when compared to the capabilities of 16th century cartographers. The originators knew that the earth was spherical, with its correct size, using a technology to measure longitude and latitude on a global scale.  The map showed Antarctica and the Arctic before the glacial ice sheets and islands before their “discovery.” These were periods before Sumer, Egypt and Babylon.

·         Before the 18th century, the world only knew of 7 celestial bodies (aside from earth) in our Solar System – 5 planets, the Moon and the Sun, with them revolving around Earth. This was the basis for the days of the week: Sun (Sunday), Moon (Monday), Mars (Mardi), Mercury (Mercredi), Jupiter (Jeudi), Venus (Vendredi) and Saturn (Saturday). Uranus was discovered only in 1781, Neptune in 1846 and Pluto in 1930. Around 4000 BC, the Sumerians already knew the existence of 12 celestial bodies, including a tenth planet between Mars and Jupiter; and that the planets revolve around the Sun. That knowledge was restored only during the 20th century.

Ancient Mythical Cycles

If we go by ancient mythical cycles, humanity would be at the tail end of a regression and start of a progression.

·         A biblical account is the gradual decline of the human life span. From Adam to Noah (Genesis 5), the Adam model was a stable species that lived long like the dinosaurs, with an average lifespan of 900 years. After the deluge, the life span declined to 400 (Enoch, 5th generation from Noah), to 175 (Abraham, 10th generation), to 120 years old (Moses, 14th generation). “Then the Lord said, ‘My spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh, but his days shall be a hundred and twenty years’” (Genesis 6: 3). Incidentally, both the Neanderthals (c. 300,000 to 30,000 years ago) and the Cro-Magnons (30,000-10,000 years ago) have an average brain volume of 1,500 cc., more than a 100 cc. larger than modern man and were well over six feet tall.

·         Hesiod (in Theogony) had five stages in the degeneration of humanity. During the Golden Age, men lived like the gods of Olympus, free from worry and fatigue and enjoying long life. In the Silver Age, the human race became feeble and inept in a matriarchal and agricultural society. The Age of Heroes was the era of valiant heroes who fought before Thebes and Troy. The Iron Age was the contemporary period of misery, when men respected neither vows nor justice in virtue.

·         The Andean people of Peru talked of five “Suns” or ages: Age of Viracochas (White Bearded Gods), Age of Giants, Age of Primitive Man, Age of Heroes and the Age of Kings (contemporary, with the Incas as last in line). The Age of Viracochas is similar to the time of the biblical Nefilims, the Age of Giants to the mixed marriage between Nefilims and humans, and the Age of Primitive Man to the period just before and after the Deluge, when humans reverted back to caves.

·         The Hopi Indians (Native Americans in Arizona) described “Five Cycles of Purification.” The first began 52,000 years ago, the second 39,000 years ago, the third 26,000 years ago and the fourth, 13,000 years ago. During each purification cycle, discordant, unqualified and dysfunctional energies were fielded up and cleansed, manifested in physical catastrophes.

·         In Sumerian astrology (adopted by Assyro-Babylonians), every 72 years, the constellations would appear to shift in an upwardly direction in the night sky by one degree. Every 2,160 years, each of the 12 signs (constellations) of the zodiac would shift by 30 degrees. The Great Year is a complete 360-degree cycle of the zodiac in 25,920 years.

·         The Egyptians Cycle of 12 Manifestations is based on the North Star (the exact geographic setting of the Giza Pyramid). Every 6,480 years, the North Pole points to a different North Star in a full cycle of 77,760 years. During the 7th Manifestation (c. 10,948 BC), the North Star was Thuban. In the 8th Manifestation (c. 4,468 BC), it was Alpha Draconis. The present 9th Manifestation has Polaris as the North Star. According to Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet (in The Gnostic Circle, 1975, p. 64-65), the pyramid was built 8,640 years ago, when Thuban was the North Star, during the Sumerian Age of Leo. The present Age of Aquarius (opposite of Leo) implies a period of enlightenment.

·         In the Mahabharata and various text of the Puranic Period (c. 400 AD), the Indian system called a complete cycle as Manvantara, which consisted of four Ages, namely satya-yuga (Golden Age), tetra-yuga (Silver Age), dwapara-yuga (Copper Age) and kali-yuga (Iron Age). Each Yuga has an ascending and descending phase. Each Yuga consisted of 3,240 years or 6,480 for both phases. Earth is now at the tail end of the ascending kali-yuga (age of turmoil and sleep) and will commence in the ascending dwapara-yuga (period of awakening) by 2012.

Pre-Deluge Civilizations

A Sumerian tablet in the Berlin Museum (VAT.7847) began the list of zodiacal constellations with that of Leo (when humans, as generally accepted, had just begun to till the land). This implied either that Sumerians already had a very sophisticated astronomy in 4000 BC or that earlier civilizations existed. Recent archeological discoveries affirmed earlier civilizations.

·      In the 1950s, Byblos, the capital city of Phoenicia, was considered as the oldest city. According to Greek tradition, it had been founded by Cronos, god of time. But excavations there revealed relatively recent cities. On the other hand, from 1952-58, British archeologist Dr. Kathleen Kenyon unearthed the ruins of the biblical Jericho at Tell es Sultan (Israel), revealing some thick walls. Carbon-14 dating of the relics indicated 8000 BC. The revelation of a New Stone Age city upset established chronology and promised to revolutionize the story of civilization. (“The First Cities in the World,” in The World’s Last Mysteries, Readers’ Digest Service Pty. Ltd., 1977, pp. 143-146)

·      Tell el Sultan was entirely made up of the ruins of towns superimposed on top of each other. The most recent town was dated from the Iron Age. “The successive levels (were) cut through by trenches in a grid pattern more than 7,000 years of almost uninterrupted human occupation.” From the edge of one of the vertical cuts, the walls of Jericho rose up in a great mass 17 meters below, at the bottom of the dark trench. The Israelites fought their battle in c. 1393 BC (Middle Bronze Age) with a city that lay on top of ruins from civilizations as far back as 6000 years earlier.

·      Catal Hoyuk, the second oldest city discovered (c.7000 BC), was some 32 acres on the edge of the Carsamba Cay River, in northern Anatolia, near the Black Sea. The artifacts showed evidence of luxury items; iconography and writing; religious class stratification; and, trade with Jericho. Tell es-Sawwan (c. 6000 BC), 110 km northwest of Baghdad, Iraq, was a city with houses built from unbaked mortar bricks, and surrounded by ditches and walls. Excavations revealed evidence of agriculture, pottery, grazing, weaving and use of knifes and copper. Tell Mureybut (9000 BC) in Syria, was a solidly built village, with houses of wood pieces filled with clayey earth, a feat made 2,000 years before the traditional beginning of the new Stone Age.

·      Lepinski Vir in Yugoslavia (c. 5000 BC) was a village of 130 houses of poured cement foundations, with indirect central heating. In Malta and the Canary Islands were circular walled settlements, tombs and ruins resembling those in Peru, dated 6,000 BC. (Veber, May, “The First Cities in the World,” in The World’s Last Mysteries, Reader’s Digest Association Far East Ltd., Sydney, Australia, 1977, pp. 141-153; 305; 312) By implication, Jericho, Catal Huyuk, Tell es-Sawwan and the other villages existed before the biblical Adam and the flood. Moreover, Tell es-Sawwan was an advanced culture 2,000 years earlier than the Sumerians in Mesopotamia, the oldest known civilization.

Global Amnesia

Quoting from the Emerald Tablets (attributed to Hermes and translated by Scott Crane) and the Mayan Troano documents, Druvalo Melchisedek, (Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life) said that every time the Earth went through a pole shift, it went through a void space of about 3.5 days. As the poles shifted, a phenomenon would take place within the pitched-black darkness. One would realize unity with all, coupled with memory loss and an illusion.

·      The illusion was known in Hindu and Buddhism as maya, created by Mara, equivalent of the devil. Among the Mayans of Mexico, this was reflected in the legend of the timekeepers, i.e., beings who deliberately caused time to be distorted so that the power hungry beings could not gain full control. There probably was a news blackout about what happened before and after the flood.

·      In the Greek mythology of Pandora’s Box, Zeus was so enraged during a feast of humans and gods that he withheld the holy fire from the humans. He was further outraged when Prometheus (the Sumerian Enki) stole and carried back the sacred fire to human. He ordered Hephaestus to fashion clay and water into a body and to give it vital force. The creation, named Pandora, had a dazzling beauty equal that of immortal goddesses. Although warned against accepting gifts from the gods by Prometheus, Ephimeteus (“he who reflects after the event”), the brother, was enchanted by Pandora’s beauty. Pandora brought with her a vase (inaccurately called Pandora’s Box), which she raised and the terrible afflictions that filled the vase escaped and spread over the earth.

·      The Old Testament also described a global amnesia. Amos, contemporary of King Uzziah of Judah (c. 800 – 750 BC) prophesied “two years before the earthquake” (Amos 1:1) or some 600 years after Joshua and 150 years before the Babylonian captivity. The cataclysm: “I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight…I will bring sackcloth upon all loins and baldness on every head” (Amos 8: 9-10). Isaiah (c. 742-701 BC) described the aftermath of amnesia: “For the Lord has poured out upon you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes the prophets, and covered your heads, the seers. And the vision of all these has become to you, like the words of a book that is sealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying ‘Read this,’ he says, ‘I cannot, for it is sealed’” (Isaiah 29:10-11; “Book of Isaiah,” Grolier Encyclopedia, International Edition, Vol. 10, p. 250)

·      After 300 years, Zechariah, in c. 520-518 BC (the time of the Persian Empire), affirmed the cataclysm and predicted a second. “And the valley of my mountains shall be stopped…and you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzzi’ah, king of Judah” (Zechariah 14: 5). He described a pole shift: “And there shall be continuous day…not day, not night, for at evening time, there shall be light” (Zechariah 14: 7). To Haggai, God spoke: “I am about to shake the heavens and the earth” (Haggai 2: 20-22). Apparently, a pole shift erased memory recall:  “And on that day, says the Lord of Host, I will cut off the names of the idols…so that they shall be remembered no more; and also I will remove…the prophets and the unclean spirits…every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesied; he will not put on a hairy mantle to deceive, but he will say… I am a tiller of the soil” (Zechariah 13: 2-5).

·      The New Testament also alluded to the illusion: “that by the word of God heaven existed long ago and an Earth formed out of water and by means of water, through which the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same words, the heavens and earth that now existed has been stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men” (1 Peter 3:5-7).

Mayan Cycles of the Sun

The Mayans, who lived from 2000 BC to about 800 - 600 AD, were simple people who had few possessions. To this day, scientists still don't understand why that civilization suddenly disappeared into the mist about 800 years ago. Edgar Cayce said that they were part of the last survivors of Atlantis who migrated to the Yucatan from Atlantis 30,000 years ago, while that continent was being destroyed.

The Mayans believed they were living in the fifth Age of the Sun, with each Age being approximately 5,125 years. Five of those Ages totals 25,625 years, which approximates the Great Year or Great Age (that is based upon the wobble of the Earth as it spins on its axis). Each of the smaller ages within the Great Year ended with a cleansing of the planet and civilization had to start over again.  What makes the year 2012 more important than the individual 5 ages is that it is also the end of the Great Year.

The Mayans determined that one Earth year consisted of 365.242129 days, an extremely accurate number for a “primitive” people, calculating the Earth’s revolution around the sun to within a thousandth of a decimal point. They understood that the “morning star” and the “evening star” were the planet Venus. Their astronomers accurately constructed tables that could foretell lunar and solar eclipses and the fall/spring equinox and summer/winter solstice dates far into the future.

The Mayans even calculated cosmic cycles of 93 and 403 million years, which are enormous in terms of modern day understanding. How did the Mayans and other ancient cultures know about the cycles? Who was alive for 25,920 years to make such measurements? Did their very existence depend upon it?

Recent findings suggest that the ancients appear to have left behind messages   about great Earth changes that occurred 12-13,000 years ago when the last Ice Age ended and the Great Flood occurred. Interestingly, that time period marked the halfway point of the Great Year. Of even greater significance, shifting from Pisces to Aquarius completes the 25,920-year cycle, a major event in cosmic cycle time.

The Mayans have two calendar systems – the tzolkin (sacred calendar) and the haab (true year). Tzolkin had 17 months of 20 days each or 260 days in all. The haab was a 365-day calendar, 18 months of 20 days each, plus a five-day period, which they adjust, similar to our leap year. Once, every 52 years, the tzolkin and haab cycles interact (which corresponds to the cycle of Sirius B around Sirius A). From the two systems, they built a structure of time, whereby 365 days is one tun (year), 20 years or 7,200 days makes a katun, 20 katuns (or 144,000 days) makes a baktun, then a pictun and finally an alantun or 23.04 billion days. (Robert Silverberg, p.121)

The final phase of the Mayan calendar began on July 26, 1992 and would end on December 21, 2012. This is not only the end of a 5,125-year sub-cycle, but also the end of the Great Year. The years corresponding to 1987-2011 are considered the dates of the Great Purification. They say planet Earth will be cleansed once again.

Global Calamities and Human Evolution, Part 2

This is Part 2 of the three-part series on Global Calamities and Human Evolution. It is focused on the geologic reasons behind the calamities.

Collective Amnesia

The existence and disappearance of ancient life (and civilizations) were inextricably woven with geological factors, such as periods of glaciations and pole shifts. During the Jurassic Period of the Mesozoic era (c. 200 million years ago) the dinosaurs assumed dominance. Then they had a mass extinction in c. 70 million years ago.

How come scientists know so much about dinosaurs, but so little about human pre-history during the Pleistocene? How come we do not have any memory recall of pre-history except from geological and archeological records?

Our present setting was probably a result of ancient catastrophes, such as earthquakes due to continental drifting, pole shifts and Ice Ages, which may have affected collective recall.

Earth’s Lifetime

In 1971, an old rock, dated 3.8 billion years, was discovered by New Zealand geologist Vic McGregor at Isua, West Greenland.

In 1983, geologist Vic Compston from the Australian University in Canberra had collected tiny zircon crystals in Australia, dated 4.2 billion years old using an ion microprobe.

Geochemist Stephen Richardson found a diamond in the De Beers Finch Diamond Mine, near the Kalahari Desert, South Africa. By smashing the stones and liberating bits of garnet containing radioactive isotopes, the diamond was dated at 3.3 billion years.

In January 2001, geologist Simon Wilde of the Curtin University of Technology in Perth discovered a speck of zircon crystal, dated as the oldest rock at 4.4 billion years, just 160 million years after earth formed. The finding suggests that life may have evolved earlier than previously guessed.[1]

Geologists divided the earth’s lifetime into four major stages or era.

·         The Proterozoic or Pre-Cambrian Era marked the beginning of life since 4 billion years ago.

·         The Palaeozoic Era (570-245 million years ago or mya) described ancient life in the waters.

·         The Mesozoic era (245-65 mya) saw the emergence of life on land dominated by the reptiles, i.e., the dinosaurs.

·         The Cenozoic era (65 mya-present) saw the development of the mammals and primates.

Each Era is divided into periods or epoch. The last two periods of the Cenozoic Era, the Pleistocene (3 million – 10,000 years ago) and Holocene (10,000 years ago-present), marked the emergence of humans and the attainment of civilization.

Further, archeologists had classified pre-history in terms of the Paleolithic or Old Stone Age (2 million to 10,000 BC), Middle Stone Age (10,000 BC to 8,000 BC) and New Stone Age (8000 BC to 3500 BC). Before the Sumerians, the people were considered primitive, albeit starting to develop more sophisticated stone tools.

How did the archaic Homo sapiens emerge and live?

During the Jurassic Period of the Mesozoic era (c. 200 million years ago), dinosaurs assumed dominance. Then they had a mass extinction 70 million years ago. How? The existence and disappearance of the dinosaurs, like all life forms, were inextricably woven with a celestial and three geological factors. First, energies from the sun and other celestial bodies, “stardust” and falling meteors mixed with the “primordial soup” to breed life forms. Then the evolutionary process commenced, with more varieties and complex forms conditioned by the geological factors: (a) continental drifting, (b) periods of glaciations, and (c) pole shifts.

Evolution and the three geological factors existed until and after the emergence of the Homo sapiens.

Continental Drifts

In 1915, Alfred Wegener presented evidence that the continents were once united in a single landmass of 80 million square miles he called Pangaea (“all earth”), but broken up due to continental drifting.  In 1986, Dr, Jason Morgan substantiated the continental drift theory. The earth’s outer shell, the lithosphere, consisted of a dozen or so rigid geological plates, 60 miles (100 km.) in thickness that are in motion along great fissure points in the ocean basins. As they collide, one plate descends under the other, causing great deformation and crumbing of the crust. Islands could be alternately thrown up or engulfed by the sea due to the collision, volcanic eruption and earthquakes.[2]

About 190 million years ago, during the Jurassic period, the landmass broke-up into two super-continents, Laurasia and Gondwanaland. Laurasia was composed of Euro-Asia, Greenland and North America. Gondwanaland (named after Gondwana, India) was composed of Africa, Arabia, India, South America, Oceania and Antarctica. Oceania was composed of Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand, Indonesia, the Philippines and the Pacific Islands. About 100 million years ago, when the South Pole was in the Sahara, Gondwanaland also broke apart, with South America drifting westward, forming the African west coast. Antarctica moved south, Australia to the east and Africa drifted slightly north. The movement of the plates brought continents to where they are now.[3]

James Churchward studied the “Caacal Tablet” from a Hindu priest and Explorer William Niven discovered a petroglyph in the Yucatan showing unknown continents on both sides of America, i.e., the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Among the 15,000 andesite stones from Ica, Peru, four glyptoliths showed unknown continents, which Dr. Javier Cabrera had validated as they appeared millions of years ago.[4]

Rick Gore described ancient catastrophes, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes due to tectonic plates: “a slippery seed between a finger and a thumb – the Eurasian and Arabian plates.” Added Gore: “in 526, an earthquake killed 300,000 people according to historian Procopius…Plague hit in 542, Persian armies in 573. Another earthquake in 588 closed a devastating century.” Gore surmised: “The North Anatolian fault played a role in the formation of another Turkish Straight, the 38-mile long Dardanelles, which connect the Sea of Marmara with the Aegean. In 480 BC, Persian King Xerxes built a bridge of boats to prevent Greek invasion.”[5]

Green House Ice Ages

According to geologists, the Pleistocene or Ice Age (3 million –10,000 BC) had at least four major glacier advances and three warming periods (interglacial). The last Ice Age began 75,000 years ago and underwent a mini-warming some 40,000 years ago. Then, 38,000 years ago, a harsher and colder period ensued, with ice sheets covering most of America and a substantial part of Europe. The ice sheets held so much water that ocean levels dropped, exposing land bridges that tied Asia with Australia and with the Beringia continent linking Siberia to North America. This enabled early human migration from Africa to Europe, Asia, Australia and America. About 13,000 years ago, the Ice Age ended and warming periods melted the glaciers and put Beringia back under the sea.

According to John Hamaker, (in his book Survival of Civilizations) glaciations were caused by the greenhouse effect, i.e., the rise of atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide and methane. When the atmosphere reaches a critical level of greenhouse gases, heat is trapped and the ice age is activated. The greenhouse effect is tied to trees, minerals and population. When trees are cut down or die, carbon dioxide gets released. Likewise, the burning of fossil fuel and animals give off carbon dioxide as waste. Intensive wetland cultivation and the digestive tracks of large cattle populations would give off methane.

The time of the green house may take from three days to 90,000 years, depending on the theory applied. Hamaker explained that the Earth had a cycle of 90,000 years of ice, followed by 10,000 temperate years. The length of time it takes from a warm age is 20 years. When the 20 years is reached, in a single day, it will be ice, the clouds will back up over Earth, the average temperature will drop to 50 degrees below zero and most areas won’t see the sun. If the theory of the greenhouse Ice Age is applied, then a pre-deluge population explosion and massive forest destruction may have occurred prior to the last 3 million years, which resulted in a critical level of greenhouse gases.

Pole Shifts

In the new science of geomagnetics, geologists noted that the north-south magnetic field of Earth has reversed or shifted many times. By studying the magnetic characteristics of minerals, geologists assigned fossil bearing sediments to a particular magnetic era. The “fossilized direction” of the magnetic field in a rock sample and its comparison with the north-south orientation at the site would show the direction of the prehistoric magnetic field. Using Potassium/Argon (K/Ar) dating (i.e., it takes 1.26 million years for half the Potassium 40 to decay to Argon gas) would show the time for the pole shift. There were twelve reversals in the last 4 million years. The most recent periods are: 30,000-20,000 years ago and 890,000-690,000 years ago.

There are two major theories about pole shifts.

The theory of Auchincloss Brown, states that, if the weight of the ice keeps building up, eventually, like a spinning top, the South Pole begins to form off center, and then builds up rapidly until it breaks free from the centrifugal force of the Earth rotation and find a new pole that is centered.

The theory of Charles Hapgood (in Earth’s Shifting Crust and the Path of the Pole) posited that at least two layers of rock under the Earth’s crust liquefy at certain conditions. The crust of the Earth can slip over its main mass, while it continues its rotation.

A possible effect of a pole shift is memory loss. The earth had been observed to  be slightly tilted from its original axis; this may explain why birds, whales and dolphins, which uses the Magnetic North as guide for their migration go to places where they shouldn’t be.[6]

Greenhouse Effect: Vital Signs

Moving forward to modern times, humanity has altered the ecosystem in an adverse way. On November 1992, a document entitled World’s Scientists Warning to Humanity was released. It began: “Human beings and the natural world are on a collision course. Human activities inflicted harsh and often irreversible damage on the environment or on critical resources. If not checked, many of our current practices put a serious risk the future that we wish for human society and the plant and animal kingdom, and may so alter the living world that it will be unable to sustain life in the manner that we know.” [7]

In 2001, the population of the earth reached 6 billion, an average addition of 346 million every year. What are the implications of such a geometric rise in the population? Because of over-consumption, humans are consuming its natural capital. The non-renewable fossil fuels and minerals formed over eons are now being consumed or destroyed within decades. The same thing is happening with renewable resources – deep fertile agricultural soils, ground water, and biodiversity.

The imbalance may also cut across ecosystems, i.e., countries. For example, the clearing of tropical forests, the major reservoirs of specie biodiversity, may be an attempt to provide farms for a rapidly growing population. But it may also be destroyed in part, to make pet food and convenient food for developed countries. A rich person thousands of miles away may cause more tropical forest destruction than a poor person within the forest itself.

The world is getting warmer. As it approaches a critical level, according to John Hamaker, (in his book Survival of Civilizations) the effect would be very, very cold, an ice age descending within a few years.

Humanity and the whole world sit at the crest of either ascension to higher heights, or a trough to a funeral pyre of ice and water, i.e., we are either transformed in love as one whole mystical body of Christ or live in fear under the spell of the beast from the sea.

Global Calamities and Human Evolution, Part 1

This is the first part on a three-part series on the Global Calamities and Human Evolution. It attempts to show that the present catastrophes, such as earthquakes, vocanic eruptions, changes in weather patterns are natural and are necessary for human evolution and “transformation.” It posits that Human evolution and transformation is essentially conditioned by geologic factors, as well as the readiness of humanity to shift to a next higher or deeper level.

This first part focused on the Great Flood that was captured in the Book of Genesis and in most ancient records.

Part 2 focused on the geological factors.

Part 3 highlighted the ancient cycles, particularly as depicted by the Mayans.

Gradual Transformation

In the recent past, the physical sciences of astronomy, physics, and geology are distinct from the natural sciences of biology and chemistry. Now, they work hand in hand in quantum physics and genetics.

Before, history and the social sciences (political sciences, psychology, sociology and economics) were studied independently from the humanities (philosophy, mythology). Now geologists are using mythology and medieval art to uncover ancient history and tracing human evolution with the cultural milieu during those early times.

An eclectic approach is now more the rule than the exception

I suppose, deeper intelligence waited for humankind to reach a degree of evolution, for ancient mysteries to be deciphered. The physical and natural laws were already in operation even before humans learned of their importance. The scientists or the seers did not make the laws; the laws were there to be discovered and harnessed.

With the discoveries of deeper laws, we are enabled to understand the mysteries veiled in religious myths and mysticism and are coming closer to our connectedness with the universe. The illusion of humanity’s separateness from nature is likewise slowly being cleared with the cultural barriers separating races of humans from one another being gradually lifted.

The Deluge Stories

The earliest Deluge story was found on a badly damaged fragment of baked clay, 7 inches long by 5.6 inches wide, transported to the University of Pennsylvania from the 1895-96 expedition in Nippur (in Iraq). Catalogued and filed as “Incantation 10673” in 1904, it was dated c. 1750 BC, when Sumer (biblical Shinar) had already been conquered by the Akkadians. The Akkadian “Epic of Gilgamesh” came from the cuneiform text discovered from the library of Ashurbanipal (668-627 BC) in Ancient Ninevah. The hero of the Deluge is “the Exceedingly Wise One,” Upnapishtim in Sumer, Atra-hasis in Akkadian, and Noah in Hebrew.

The Sumerian tale came in two late Semitic versions in the Book of Genesis. First, when Noah is told to take into his ark “of every living thing of all flesh two of every sort” (Gen. 6: 19); second, when it is to be “seven pairs of all clean animals and a pair of the animals that are not clean” (Gen. 7: 2).  Genesis was purportedly written by Moses in c. 1500 BC. However, alphabet writing (the basis for Aramaic and Hebrew) was introduced only in c. 1000 BC by the sea-faring Phoenicians in the city of Byblos (today’s Jebeil in Lebanon). Byblos was the origin of the words “Bible” and “bibliography.”

Berrosus, the Babylonian historian priest who compiled a History of Mankind (as reported by the Greek Abydenus) in the 3rd century BC, related that Cronus revealed to Sisithros or Siasutra (Noah) the impending flood. As directed, Sisithros hid all available writing in Sippar, the city of Shamash and sailed to Armenia (the land of Ararat, Turkey) with his wife. In Hesiod’s Theogony, Prometheus warned his son Deucalion to construct an ark with which he and his wife “went abroad.” On the 10th day, they disembarked on the crest of Mt. Orthys or Mt Parnassus. Ancient Greeks considered Deucalion as the first king, father of the Hellenes and the builder of the temple of the Olympian Zeus at Athens.

In the Satapatha Bhramana, the god Vishnu appearing as a fish, instructed Baisbastata Manu (mankind’s ancestor and first lawgiver) to prepare a ship, which, during the flood, was pulled by the fish to a northern mountain. The Chinese book, History Classic (Shu Ching), talks of Yu, an ancient ruler of China, the “conqueror of the Great Flood.” Yu channeled floodwaters into rivers and seas to resettle his people. The Mayans called the Universal Deluge as haiyococab (“water over earth”). The Guatemalan Indians call it Butic or flood of final judgment.[1]

As more detailed accounts of the flood were uncovered, a re-assembly of the epic was credited primarily to W.G. Lambert and A.R. Millard (Atra-Hasis: the Babylonian Story of the Flood). Given many flood stories, Charles Berlitz (in Atlantis, the Eight Continent) opined that there were many “Noahs.” He argued that there was no linguistic connection among the names of the flood survivors: Noah - Judeo, Christian and Islamic; Ut-Napishtim in Babylon; Yima in Iran; Deucalion in Greek and Roman; Baisbastata in Hindu; Coxcox or Tepzi in Aztec; and Tamandare in Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.

Black Sea Evidence

In 1998, Walter Pitman and William Ryan, American geologists and co-authors of the book, Noah’s Flood, postulated that the great deluge recorded in the Bible and other ancient literature may have transformed the Black Sea basin from fresh water to salt water (the Black Sea is north of Mt. Ararat, Turkey). Using core samples of sediments and the dating of seashells, they concluded that the flood occurred about 7,500 years ago. This was affirmed in 1999 by Bob Ballard, using the sonar. [2]

The Sumerian Records

Dr. Erich Eberling uncovered a text of some thirty lines inscribed in miniature cuneiform writing on both sides of a clay tablet less than an inch long. It was unearthed in Ashur, but the profusion of Sumerian words outlined its Sumerian origin. Dr. Eberling posited that it was a hymn recited in the House of the Dead and included it in his work, Tod und Leben (Death and Resurrection in Ancient Mesopotamia).

Upon deeper scrutiny, Zechariah Sitchin (in The Twelfth Planet) explained that the text called on the name of the celestial being that caused the Deluge; it was a “planet” that came close to Earth’s periphery. It also stated that the Deluge began in the Sumerian astrological “Age of the Constellation Lion,” c. 10,860 to 8,700 BC. The last Ice Age ended the southern hemisphere some 12-13,000 years ago and in the northern hemisphere 2,000 years later.  Science corroborated the Sumerian records.

In c. AD 50 Peter wrote: with “the fact that by the word of God, heavens existed long ago, and an earth formed out of water and by means of water, through which the world that existed was deluged with water and perished” (2 Peter 3: 3-4).

In 1915, Russian Alexander Koor a colonel on duty in Turkey before WW II deciphered a similar message from damaged inscriptions preserved through the centuries in a place called Karada in Mt. Ararat. In his 1946 report to the Sacred History Research Expedition, he wrote: “I translated the pictorial signs and they give me an accurate explanation of the origin of the words MAGOG, GOG, etc. (Ezekiel 38: 2 and 39:1). This explanation also upholds the truth and accuracy of chapter 10 and of Genesis. In short, the words Magog, Gog are words of the Sumerian tongue, which shows the ancient origin of the words. Jews incorporated the words through the Assiro-Babylonians.”

Koor translated four signs: “Ma” meant “origin” or “the seed of the water (flood).”  “Gog” meant “the word of God” orby the word of God.” “TUB-AL” (or TOOB) meant “to filled earth.” “TO KOOR” meant, “to come to rest on mountain.” The signs may be translated as follow: “these thrown by God, by waters came to rest on mountains when the night and the waters (flood) descended from upon the earth…”[3] The “Word,” i.e., the Truth (John 1: 1-3; 9-10) was lost.

Harmonizing the Deluge Tales

Rene Noorbergen estimated that nearly a billion people were destroyed during the Deluge. Using the genealogy mentioned in Genesis (10 generations from Adam to Noah in 1,656 years) and allowing that the average antediluvian mother had the reproductive capability of 18-20 children, the population might have been close to 800 million people. Add to this figure an estimate for the surviving members of previous generations, 900 million is close to the population 150 years ago, that ballooned to 6 billion in 2001.[4]

Going back to the intermarriage between the Nefilims and humans (Genesis 6: 1-4), Zecharia Sitchin (in The 12th Planet) explained that the Sumerian cuneiforms described how man began to pro-create and eventually became so numerous. The Nefilims began to be attracted to humans as sexual partners and children were born of these unions. The union was unacceptable to the Nefilim hierarchy. Man or god-man became a competitor for world domination. Likewise, the unions resulted in the creation of unwarranted beasts and diseases. “And God saw the earth, and behold it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth” (Genesis 6: 12).

In the Bible, God was surprised, repented of his creation, and decided to destroy humankind. The Sumerian flood story related that Enlil ordered the extermination of man through natural drought and famine: a lack of rain and failing irrigation and barring the sources of seafood, such that, eventually, most humans “were already so degraded that they became cannibals.”  Further, prior to the passing of an unknown planet (or a comet) within the solar system, the Nefilims already calculated and predicted the occurrence of the flood. Assembled in the town of Shuruppak, on the banks of the Euphrates, the Nefilim council decided to drown the earth with a deluge, while they fly off in their space stations. They did not cause the deluge; but they withheld information from the humans.

The parallel with the biblical story is obvious: Before the deluge, a man is forewarned to prepare a special boat; the deluge stormed for days while the ark floated; after the flood, the boat anchored in the peaks of the Mountain of Salvation (Mt. Ararat); after several months, the man sent out a dove and raven to seek out for land. Thereafter, he released all the creatures with him, built an altar and offered a sacrifice.

Guide to Recall

The Book of Genesis may have depicted a hologram of the lost years of human history, veiled by the biblical “Fall.” With “the fact that by the word of God, heavens existed long ago, and an earth formed out of water and by means of water, through which the world that existed was deluged with water and perished. (2 Peter 3: 3-4). Before the gods left, they may have veiled the truth in the Bible and other myths, to be deciphered at the appropriate time in the course of human evolution. They possibly knew that after the Flood, mankind would forget the sacred teachings. “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away” (Ecclesiastes 2: 15). The gods meant for us to remember.

The Bible, coupled with archeological facts and myths, may be the tool to reconnect to humanity’s lost history.  Do not “ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (Peter 2: 8). If we equate the biblical time of Adam in 4000 BC to the time of the archaic Homo sapiens (c. 200,000 BC), the biblical deluge (1,656 years after Adam or 2344 BC), would roughly correspond to 117,200 years. The lost 200,000 years of human history may have been a hologram of 4,000 years. Several cataclysms must have happened. “Someone” or the gods was making us remember.

A lot of evidences must have been buried underground, underwater or under ice sheets. The Flood may have destroyed civilizations, now known only as myths. It is also possible that ensuing pole shifts had erased the collective memory. If poll shifts had occurred in pre-history, then antediluvian civilizations may have undergone devolution. The pole shifts may have relegated humans to primitive cavemen, when they could have been already highly civilized prior to the last pole shift and the deluge.

I believe there is a greater natural plan guiding humanity towards unity and harmony. We belong to one species, and our species belong to all life, with only the religious and  cultural traditions standing in the way. We are participants in human evolution, towards a unity with nature’s ways. Each of us partakes in human progress, although apparently insignificant when compared to the collective stream of human consciousness. But, as Graham Green puts it, “One cannot love humanity; one can only love people.” I can only be my brother’s keeper if my brother (and sister) meant everyone, regardless of gender, race, culture, class status or religion.
